  I love how you interact with the baristas at Philz before you even go to the register to pay. They also ask you to take a sip to make sure it's made to your desire; they'll add more sugar/cream if you need it. This location has an area in the back with tables and chairs for studying too! The downside is that you have to pay for parking in Downtown San Mateo...

  Good alternative to korean bbq, since there is none in San Mateo. Happy hour everyday, and all day on Monday. Service is a hit and miss. They always make you wait to be seated even if half of the restaurant is empty.

  Very good cuts here. Well seasoned. Better than Korean BBQ places. They also offer a Retty good happy hour. Gets packed so it's best to make reservations.

  If you have a party larger than 6 you'll have to call in to make a reservation. They also require that you place half your order to ensure that the kitchen does not get overwhelmed. Good food and pleasant atmosphere.
