  This is a great place to go when you want a variety of food. If you've never done hotpot it's a fun experience and even if you have it's a great place to go with friends and family. The food was very yummy and the staff was friendly. We especially liked the fatty beef and pork.

  I love how you interact with the baristas at Philz before you even go to the register to pay. They also ask you to take a sip to make sure it's made to your desire; they'll add more sugar/cream if you need it. This location has an area in the back with tables and chairs for studying too! The downside is that you have to pay for parking in Downtown San Mateo...

  No all you can eat option here, but generous helpings, and quality ingredients with delicious broth make up for it. The bar will only make what is on their cocktail menu though, so don't expect them to go off menu, even if they have the ingredients.

  The wait was supposed to be 45 min but we were seated in less than 10 and received excellent fast service the whole time. We got the "half and half" broth which was the perfect amount of heat as the spicy broth is VERY spicy and get more so as the broth cooked down. Everything was delicious and they have a TON of a la carte options. Usually hot pot can be pricey but cocktails were $6-7 and we stuffed 3 people for about $60.
